Mayowa is a highly skilled social worker and social innovator with a passion for using creative ideas and technology to solve problems and impact lives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education English and a
graduate degree in Educational Foundations and Counseling Psychology with a Minor in English Language, both from Lagos State University. She also has additional training in managing programs and is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School’s Enterprise Development Center.
With extensive experience in business management, program planning and implementation. brand management, logistics/event coordination, and social media coordination, Mayowa is a versatile social
change agent who consistently aims to exceed goals. She has superb communication, negotiation, networking, facilitation, and presentation skills and is a motivated team player.
Mayowa is the CEO of Ashake Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization that focuses on alleviating the plight of widows and their children with various relief services for their businesses, children’
s educational financing and supplies. She is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of programs to ensure that the organization achieves its mission and goals.
Mayowa has received numerous awards and recognition for her work in social innovation and humanitarianism. In 2009, she was named the best student teacher during her teaching practice for her
excellent service and hard work. In 2014, she was nominated by Google Africa through the African Connected as one of ten social innovators who have used the internet to further their causes. In 2017, she was the 2017 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons (JCI TOYP) of Nigeria Award in the Humanitarian and Voluntary Leadership category. Mayowa is also an alumnus of the LEAP Africa, SIPA Program for Social Innovators in Nigeria.
In 2020, Mayowa received a prestigious award as an outstanding citizen providing solutions via Ashake Foundation for their donations of food palliatives, nose masks, and hand wash to over 2000 people around
14 communities in Abuja. The Women group of a faith-based organization awarded her this award. She is also a Fellow of YouthAction Net, an initiative of the International Youth Foundation and one of 100 women impacting Africa according to Women Impacting Nigeria group.
Recently, Mayowa won a master’s degree fellowship in Germany to represent Nigerian women social entrepreneurs (2021). She is married and blessed with two beautiful princesses. Mayowa’s passion for social
innovation, leadership, and humanitarianism has led her to positively impact the lives of many individuals and communities. She continues to push boundaries and strives for excellence in her endeavours.
